How to host a game

We are thrilled you want to bring Likely Story into your classroom and we’re here to help you make it happen. The game gets into sensitive topics. So before you start, let your students know that your classroom is a non-judgmental, safe-space and that the game is completely confidential and anonymous.

Step 1

How the game works

Grab three people or devices and play through the game to get to know it. You can also attend one of our live demos.

Curious what scenarios your students will see during the game?

Check out the scenario and Hot Tip index within your teacher resource section.
Step 2

How to host a game

Introduce your class to the game! Let them know that the game is about
relationships and covers some mature subjects. Remind them to be sensitive to
others and that the class is a safe space.

1

Divide your class into equal groups of 3-6 players, and have them go to likelystory.game to play. Here’s a printable PDF to share with scannable QR codes.

2

Each group will need a “host” who will start the game. Players will join using the Room Code, and then will select their avatar before joining the game.

3

Once all players have joined, the host will hit “play” and the game will begin! Each group should play at least 1 full game which should take 15-20 minutes.

4

At the end of the game, take a few moments to reflect with your students on the game and any thoughts that came up. Choose a post-game activity or conversation prompt here.
Step 3

Choose a post game
activity

Encourage your students to explore what they learned in the game with our free resources, activities, and prompts.
Short on time? A great way to wrap up a session is asking your class how their experience was while playing. Perhaps sharing one new thing they learned, or something that stood out to them.
